The other day, Michaela and I piled the kiddos in the car to run some errands. As I often do, I put my keys and wallet on the top of my car while putting Lennon into his car seat.
It wasn't until we returned home that I realized I didn't have my wallet...you know the feeling, the feeling in your stomach, your mind starts racing...how am I going to have time to get a new license, credit cards, etc.
I suddenly remembered that I put it on the top of the car...so I go look on the ground outside, thinking if it fell off, it had to be around the driveway or street....no luck. Ok, I'll retrace my steps, and to my surprise, about a mile away from my house, my wallet was sitting in the middle of the road, all the cards had fallen out, but stayed right next to the wallet. It was on a busy road and as I tired to grab it...I felt like I was playing a game of Frogger.
Amazingly, nothing was missing, nothing was broken...my relief as crazy.
Through this, I realize how hard it is when we lose our essentials...but here's the big question: What would you rather lose, your phone or your wallet? I used to think phone...now I think wallet.
