Could a name change be on the horizon for the Cleveland Indians?
The club released a statement Friday, saying they understand the team name is among the most visible ways they connect with the community.
The team explained its committed to engaging the community and "appropriate stakeholders" to figure out the best way forward when it comes to the nickname.
This comes as the NFL's Washington Redskins have said they are exploring a potential change as corporate sponsors have asked the team to change the controversial name
