Beach Boys “Pet Sounds” Documentary To Air On Showtime

The Beach Boys' iconic 1966 album, “Pet Sounds,” is going to be the subject of a new documentary set to air on Showtime in April.

“The Beach Boys: Making Pet Sounds” will look back at “the story of the creation of the record that cemented The Beach Boys reputation as a leading force to rival The Beatles.” It will feature archival footage and studio outtakes, as well as exclusive interviews with bandmembers Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks.

This won’t be the first documentary Showtime has ever aired about The Beach Boys. “Beautiful Dreamer: Brian Wilson and the Story of Smile,” about the band’s “Pet Sounds" follow-up “Smile,” aired in 2004.
